About the Foxfire Boys. In 1980, five boys came together in a high school classroom wanting to learn to play acoustic stringed instruments true to their mountain heritage. They recorded their first album in 1982 and were introduced to the Grand Ole Opry as The Foxfire Boys in 1983.  Over the years, their musicanship has both deepened and broadened.  Over two decades later, the same original boys are still together and are the best of friends.  Only one member has moved away and was replaced by aontehr talented young man from the community. The Foxfire Boys continue to delight audiences far and wide, serving as musical goodwill ambassadors for Rabun County and for Georgia.
