Terrapin Brewery

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

I discovered yet another entrepreneurial success story in Northeast Georgia today!  Next time you are heading to Athens, check out the Terrapin Brewery.

Terrapin introduced its first beer, the Rye Pale Ale in April of 2002. Six months later while only available on draft in Athens, Terrapin’s sole offering won the American Pale Ale Gold Medal at the 2002 Great American Beer Festival.  Only six months old, Terrapin had arrived in style!

Today, Terrapin has a new 40,000 square foot brewing facility and is brewing innovative and exciting beers, and winning many more awards.  Tours are offered every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5:30-7:30, with live music and beer samples. You can visit them online at www.terrapinbeer.com
